OUR METHODS
Synergy Management Solutions has developed a number of tools and templates that we use to manage our engagements. These are part of our Integrity Management™ Methodology and the Synergy Enterprise Program Management Model (SEPMM™). They provide strong mechanisms to help our consultants manage and deliver our clients’ objectives.
Over many years, we have formulated a depth of intellectual property (IP) across the areas of stakeholder management, management consulting, relationship resolution, and transition/transformation management. We use best-practice project management principles and can easily integrate client methods with our own to achieve the required outcomes.
Synergy’s Outsource Lifecycle Model and Outsource Maturity
models have been developed over many years of experience in
assisting clients to establish outsourcing agreements,
transition outsourced services from one vendor to another or fix
damaged relationships between our clients and their vendors.
Applied Project ManagementTM and Integrity ManagementTM in Practice
Many
projects fail because of poor project governance, failure of
buy-in from executive and senior stakeholders, false or
half-hearted statements of support, misalignment of project and
organisational goals, difference in expectations between vendor
and client project teams, personality clashes, or inadequate
selection and deployment of people skills and competencies.
Often failures occur where system, process or culture changes
are incorrectly identified or not effectively planned and
managed.
Synergy
has crafted the term Applied Project Management™ to mean the
selective use of
mechanical and soft project management skills to custom fit the
context of a project or change program to the organisation
involved and the people engaged. We underpin this approach with
the Synergy Integrity Management™ principles whereby the
cultures of people, teams and organisations are identified and
commitments are solicited from all participants to deliver their
respective promised contributions to enable successful project
outcomes. These participants can include Executive Management,
the project sponsor, stakeholders, vendors, individuals and
collective operational and project teams. Commitments made are
carefully monitored to ensure that there are no integrity
failure points within the project.
We have found that successful project managers use the above approach and techniques automatically. However, Synergy has developed models associated with Applied Project Management™ and Integrity Management™ that allow us to deliver consistently successful results for our clients. It also allows us to provide training and mentoring within client organisations so as to produce substantial and sustainable improvement in the success rates for their own project managers who operate either within or across the numerous functional business streams of modern organisations.
Client Engagement and Quality Assurance
Due to the varying nature of consulting and implementation
assignments undertaken by Synergy consultants, we have developed
a flexible model for initiating and managing assignments with
clients. Regardless of the nature and size of the assignment a
number of principles apply:
·
A formal definition of scope, deliverables and success criteria
·
Agreement on multi-level contact points between the client and
Synergy principles to discuss and monitor progress and overcome
potential risks to successful outcomes
·
Timely access to Synergy Directors as required
·
Use of Synergy methods and templates to expedite progress and
embed consistency
·
Synergy’s back office quality assurance processes to validate
key deliverable content and presentation
